Jeep Compass facelift launched at a starting price of ₹ 20.49 lakh: Claimed mileage of 17.1kmpl with two-wheel drive option, will compete with Harrier

Jeep India has launched the facelift version of the Compass in India today. The company has made a major update in the transmission of the car. Now it will have the option of 2 wheel drive (2WD) with 9 speed automatic gearbox.

The automatic gearbox was earlier limited to only the 4x4 variant. With this transmission the car gives a mileage of 17.1 kmpl. The updated Jeep Compass is offered in 5 trims – Sport, Longitude, Longitude+, Limited and Model S. The entry level model Sport will be available only with manual transmission.

Other trims will get 2WD option with automatic transmission. Apart from this, Black Shark Edition has also been introduced in the Model S variant, which gets Ignite Red elements with black alloy wheels. 
2023 Jeep Compass: Price and Competitors
American automaker Jeep has reduced the price of the entry-level Compass by about Rs 1 lakh and the top variant by about Rs 6 lakh. Now the price of the new Jeep Compass starts at Rs 20.49 lakh, going up to Rs 23.99 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom) for the top variant.

Booking of 2023 Jeep Compass 2WD has been started on the official website and dealerships across the country. Delivery of the car will start soon. In India, it will compete with Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Hyundai Tucson and Mahindra XUV700.
Jeep Compass 4X2:
The company's signature style has been retained in the design of the exterior Jeep Compass 4X2. Its exterior is equipped with a new glossy-black grille, glossy-black 18-inch alloy wheels, front LED reflector headlamps and standard LED tail-lamps, LED fog lamps and LED projector headlamps.

Jeep Compass 4X2 is available with seven color options. These include Pearl White, Diamond Black, Techno Metallic Green, Exotica Red, Grigio Magnesio Grey, Minimal Gray and Galaxy Blue.

The cabin of Jeep Compass 4x2 is equipped with a 10.1-inch next generation U-Connect 5 digital infotainment system, whose operating speed is 5 times faster with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Apart from this, the car gets a 10.25 inch frameless fully colored digital TFT gauge cluster, a panoramic sunroof and wireless charging pad.

The interior of the Black Shark Edition of the Compass gets a black color theme. It includes black painted roof and lower cladding, black leatherette seats, unique Ignite Red highlights and Blackshark badging on the fenders.
2023 Jeep Compass 4X2: Engine Specifications
Jeep Compass 4X2 has a 2.0-liter direct injection turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine, which generates 170 hp power and 350 nm torque. For transmission, the engine is tuned with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a nine-speed automatic gearbox.

Jeep India claims that Compass is the first car in its segment, which has a 9-speed automatic transmission and gets the highest mileage of 17.1 kmpl.

Engine stop-start technology has been provided in all trims of the car. The company claims that Jeep Compass 4X2 accelerates from 0-100 kmph in just 9.8 seconds.

features of Jeep Compass 4X2 include 4-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), 4-channel Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Advanced Brake Assist, Hill Start Assist, Auto hold, tire pressure monitoring system and all-speed included. Traction control, rear seat belt reminder alert and rain brake assist come standard on all trims.
